We shall get started with the ingredients first. This is a set of ingredients that you can get from your neighbourhood store.

Ingredients:

  • 250 grams of chicken fillet, diced
  • 2 onions, sliced
  • 2 medium sized potatoes, diced
  • 2 carrots, diced,
  • 1 leek, chopped

Ingredients for the Curry paste:

  • 3 tbsp of Sinolin cooking oil
  • 3 tbsp of wheat flour
  • 1 tbsp of tomato sauce
  • 1 tbsp of soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp of curry powder
  • 800 ml of water
  • A pinch of sesame

Prepare the chicken :
Turn up the heat on your stove and heat some Sinolin cooking oil up. Now we begin by stirring-fry the onions that are on the pan for around 30 seconds. This will release the aroma and provide a punch of taste to the taste. Then we add in the chicken, followed by salt, sugar and pepper. Add in those potatoes, carrots and a bit of water then cover the pan and let simmer on low heat for a few minutes. The meat is now ready at this stage, we just have to add in the curry paste.

Prepare the Curry Paste :
In another pan, heat up some more Sinolin fine grade cooking oil, add flour and mix well, add tomato sauce, soy sauce, and curry powder until it thickens and turns brownish, careful not to burn.
Add the curry paste into the chicken, mix well. Then add sugar, salt and pepper to taste. Cook for 5 minutes. Japanese chicken curry rice is now ready to serve with rice, you may sprinkle some sesame before serving.
