Fish Stew with Ginger By Dapur Sinolin

Yield: 4 to 6 servings


  • 20 ml of Sinolin cooking oil
  • 500 grams of Doriy fish, fillet
  • 4 red potatoes
  • 2 cm fresh fine ginger
  • 2 cloves of garlic, crushed
  • 1 cup of Tomato juice
  • ½ teaspoon sugar
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon of chili powder
  • ¼ teaspoon of pepper
  • Celery leaves
  • 30 ml of chili sauce
  • 500 ml of water



  1. Prepare potatoes: Without peeling, slice potatoes into 1/4 inch. Steam them on boiling water, cover and steam, for 10 minutes, or until soft. Set aside.
  2. Heat the oil over medium heat, add the ginger, garlic and stir until  fruntil fragrantd the tomato juice, pepper, red chilli powder, water, chili sauce. Mix and cover then bring to a boil.
  3. Add the fish: Cut the fillet into 3 inch pieces. Add to the sauce and press them into the pan to drown them into the liquid. Cover the pan and cook for 5 minutes, or until the fish is turning brown.
  4. Add the potatoes and look the sauce until boiling. Boil for 2 minutes.
  5. Serve: Taste the seasoning and add more salt and black pepper, if you like. Sprinkle with celery before serving.
